The Yoga of Knowledge and Action
As a blazing fire turns firewood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the fire of knowledge burn to ashes all reactions to material activities.
Context & Meaning
Just as fire reduces all wood to ash, the fire of self-knowledge reduces all karma — the accumulated weight of all past actions — to ash, leaving nothing behind to produce further bondage.
